An increase of 15% in Amman Chamber of Industry’s exports during the first quarter of 2025

Amman Chamber of Industry (ACI) continued its upward export growth trend recorded since the beginning of the current year, indicating the national industry's ability to overcome challenges and enhance its competitiveness in export markets, driven by its high quality.

The Chamber's exports grew by 15% during the first quarter of 2025, compared to the same period last year.
Exports during Q1 of this year reached JD 1.692 billion, compared to JD 1.470 billion for the same period in 2024.
Most industrial sectors recorded export growth during the first quarter of 2025, except for the therapeutic and medical supplies sector, the wood and furniture sector, and the packaging sector, which declined by 14.1%, 13.3%, and 2.1% respectively.

On the other hand, the remaining seven industrial sub-sectors saw varying degrees of growth, the highest being the construction materials sector, which increased by approximately 93%, and the lowest being the plastic and rubber industries, which grew by 3.5%.
India, the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq accounted for more than half of ACI’s exports during the first quarter of this year, amounting to JD 964 million.
Statistical data showed that exports to India rose by 56.2% in the first quarter, reaching JD 215 million, compared to JD 137 million in the same period last year.

ACI’s exports to the United States of America declined by 2.7% during Q1 2025, totaling JD 324 million compared to JD 332 million last year, though the U.S. remained the top importer of ACI’s exports.
Exports to Saudi Arabia decreased by 2.1% during the first quarter of this year, amounting to JD 204 million compared to JD 208 million for the same period in 2024.
Exports to Iraq also dropped by 2.6%, reaching about JD 221 million, down from JD 226 million in Q1 of last year.

According to the statistics, exports to Syria jumped by 307.1% during the first quarter of 2025, reaching around JD 68 million compared to JD 16 million for the same period in 2024.
Exports to Palestine also increased by 38.9%, amounting to JD 48 million compared to JD 34 million for the same period last year.
In terms of geographical distribution, Arab countries ranked first with a total value of JD 828 million, followed by North American countries with JD 335 million, and non-Arab Asian countries with JD 310 million.
ACI exports to the European Union during Q1 2025 amounted to around JD 87 million, to non-EU European countries JD 57 million, to African countries JD 53 million, and to other countries JD 18 million.

The Chamber’s exports during the first quarter were distributed across several sectors as follows

Mining industries: JD 340 million
Chemicals and cosmetics: JD 308 million
Engineering, electrical, and IT industries: JD 307 million
Food, agriculture, and livestock industries: JD 250 million
Therapeutic and medical supplies: JD 146 million
Leather and textiles: JD 140 million
Other exports included:
Plastics and rubber: JD 76 million
Packaging, paper, cardboard, and office supplies: JD 62 million
Construction materials: JD 56 million
Wood and furniture: JD 5 million

It is worth noting that the Amman Chamber of Industry, established in 1962, currently has 8,600 member industrial establishments employing 159,000 workers, with a total capital of approximately JD 5 billion.
